Analog Film Stock was created by filmmakers, for filmmakers—born out of the Slate & Glass team’s search for authentic archival footage for our own documentaries.

When we couldn't find the real, historic B-roll that we needed, at a price that worked for our clients budgets, we started searching flea markets for lost footage of our own!

What began as a side effort to rescue forgotten 8mm and 16mm reels has grown into a boutique archival studio dedicated to saving the small but powerful moments that define American history. We hand-clean, scan, and restore every reel with the same care we bring to our own post-production projects. 

Our mission is simple:
to preserve the soul of analog film and make it accessible at a price independent filmmakers can afford.

With thousands of reels in our collection—and new scans added every week—we're steadily building a searchable archive of authentic, emotionally rich footage.
